Up The Swanney.....

Hi all, and a big Happy Monday to you.
Thanks to those of you that braved the mini tornadoes and sacrificed 'Casualty' to come to the Swan on Saturday (especially those that travelled some distance) and thanks to Bill for having us back again - and for providing the splendid 'green room'). A different night to last time mainly because the weather and time of year meant no beer garden - but still plenty of beer, which the smaller but no less appreciative crowd did their best to consume. Two very loud sets from the Giraffes of mainly covers but also the odd orginal number even provoked an impromptu display of synchronised dancing. O
ur biggest challenge was resisting the exceedingly tempting smells from the Chippy/kebab shop opposite and more enticing, the Indian restaurant next door. T in fact stopped resiting during our break and quaffed a saveloy and chips, which judging from the quantity, was actually meant for the whole band. 'Lovely' was our own Gordon Ramsay's verdict, 'but far too many chips'.By the way Karaoke Bob, thanks the offer of your services. Rest assured that if we ever get a gig in Walthamstow we'll drag you up to close the night with a rousing rendition of 'King of the Road'.
